Stellantis Recalls Over 317,000 Ram Trucks in the U.S. Over Brake System Risk

Stellantis (NYSE: STLA) is recalling 317,630 vehicles in the United States due to a potential hydraulic control unit (HCU) defect that may cause critical systems—including anti-lock brakes (ABS)—to malfunction.

The issue poses a safety risk as it can impair braking performance and increase the risk of crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Affected Models:

  • Ram 3500 Pickup Trucks (Model Years 2017–2018)

Stellantis warned that defective HCUs may reduce braking responsiveness, particularly affecting the vehicle’s ABS functionality under emergency conditions.

What Should Owners Do?

  • Owners of affected vehicles are advised to contact an authorized dealership for free inspection and repair.
