Visa to relocate European headquarters to London’s Canary Wharf

Visa plans to move its European headquarters to London’s Canary Wharf, according to a report by the Financial Times on Friday. Canary Wharf Group confirmed that the payments giant has secured around 300,000 square feet of office space across 11 floors at One Canada Square under a 15-year lease, with occupancy expected to begin in 2028.

The relocation comes as the district gains renewed momentum after struggling to retain tenants during the pandemic, as companies gradually return to office-based work.

In a further boost to the area, JPMorgan recently unveiled plans for a major new tower development in Canary Wharf. The project is expected to contribute approximately £9.9 billion to the UK economy and generate nearly 8,000 jobs, reinforcing the area’s status as one of London’s key financial hubs.
